Compatibility

Can love be written in the stars? When you meet someone for the first time have you ever felt a connection straight away, then later realise that according to your backgrounds you should not have anything in common at all?

Eastern wisdom has long known that certain souls always seek each other out and get along no matter what their backgrounds are. Powerfully drawn together by what some people call “chemistry” or “that certain something.”

Compatibility Matches

Rat + Rat

Unlike in the West, in the East rats are revered for their ability in hoarding and accruing wealth. Despite being hoarders of wealth, they are always very generous with their loved ones. Both are clever and quick-witted, possessing many loyal friends and a taste for the good life and luxurious lifestyle. While they are bound to have lots of fun together, neither is likely to be very responsible with the mundane like chores.
Two Rats together are likely to find each other very stimulating, exciting, charming, however expect squabbles over money. In all, expect a thrilling roller coaster ride of sensuality. Any disagreements or arguments are likely to be very exciting and then end as quickly as they began.
However, again please keep in mind the previous advice against partnering with your own sign. While there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against. The reason being, that with both signs being the same, any effect of a good or bad year is magnified. During a good year for your sign, both you and your partner will do brilliantly well. However, during a bad year for your sign you will both suffer misfortune. Therefore if you both are of different signs, if one of your signs is due for a bad year, your partner’s sign may do well and it helps you both as a couple. Life is hard, so anything that will help make things easier is always recommended.

Rat + Ox

This is quite an interesting pairing indeed. The energetic Rat, with the stodgy, stable , rigid Ox. This is a definite case of opposites attracting. Their connection lies in their very differences. The Ox attracted to all the things that they are not; lightheartedness, lusty approach to life, while the Rat is attracted to the Ox’s sense of honor and trustworthiness.

The Rat will be able to get the Ox to lighten up and have fund, while the Ox will provide stability to the Rat’s life. As both sign complements each other, they are a fine match overall.

Rat + Tiger

The Rat and the Tiger may be too much alike for comfort, therefore probably not a very good match. With their charming and magnetic personalities they both love to be the centre of attention, so they both may end up competing with each other for the limelight in social settings.

This pair will have control issues. The Tiger, being authoritative in nature and the Rat being self-promoting will get on each other’s nerves. If they were business partners, the best set-up would be for the Tiger to lead, and the Rat to handle the behind-the-scenes. This pairing requires a lot of effort to get going and maintain, however as they are both warm-hearted and loving with those they love; if they can find common ground on which to stand, these two will make a durable, generous duo. There is also greater chance of success if the female is the Rat.

Rat + Rabbit

Not a natural pairing. Both the Rat and the Rabbit are so different in their personalities, yet with enough effort would make an odd but compatible pair. The Rat being brash, extroverted, and shrewd will usually bowl over the Rabbit’s quiet demeanor and arguments get settled in the Rat’s favour. The two will make good friends however; the Rat appreciates loyalty and that is something that the Rabbit has in abundance. Any relationship between the two will have the Rabbit benefiting from the Rat’s lighthearted optimism, and the Rat will keep the Rabbit satisfied and protected. Overall a relationship that requires work, and will only work if they understand each other’s desires.

Rat + Dragon

This is a nearly perfect combination! In every type of relationship these two share a nearly unparallel rapport. The Dragon will bring inspiration and enthusiasm in friendship, business, as well as romantic relationships. They both like to shine and be the centre of attention and will play off each other’s intense energy. With the Rat’s clever wit and shrewdness it is able to hold its own against the Dragon’s shinning brilliance. They make an incredibly strong pair in whatever relationship they have, with the shrewd Rat allowing the Dragon to the front man and the Rat happy to work behind the scenes. An overall brilliant match.

Rat + Snake

The Rat and the Snake is not a natural pairing. They need to overcome their differences and a major one is where to spend their money. However the Snake will be motivating company for the Rat either in marriage or business.

The Rat is much more active and energetic on the surface, while the Snake likes to think of itself as a deeper thinker, philosophical, and intuitive. The Rat and the Snake may make quite a compatible pair once they can learn to overlook their differences. The Snake will appreciate the Rat’s clever mind and energy to get things going, as usually the Snake will tire of anyone who is incompetent or ineffective. In all this pairing will work but only with effect.

Rat + Horse

This is a most ill advised match as they are opposite signs in the Chinese Zodiac, and their relationship may be marked by friction and epic rows with one another. This is truly a case of opposites. The Rat relies on its group of loyal friends, while the Horse needs a great deal of independence. The Horse’s occasional insensitivity may make the Rat feel unappreciated, as the Rat usually showers its loved ones with love and generosity. The Rat also hoards possessions whereas the Horse is a wanderer who enjoys its freedom so likes to pick up and go at a moment’s notice. Relationships will always work with enough effort and compromise on both sides, but the differences here may be too big to overcome. A pair best avoided.

Rat + Goat

This is a mismatched pair, the reason being is that they have different interests and needs. Where the Rat is all about friends and being social, the Goat is more an arty type. The Rat may love to be partying away, where the Goat prefers to go off on a wilderness retreat somewhere finding itself, or just enjoying nature. The Rat may become bored with the Goat’s dreamy nature, and the Goat may dislike the Rat’s constant scheming and partying lifestyle. In business they will fare a little better, with the Rat taking on the role of front person and the Goat, being less money-minded but creative, running things behind the scenes. They are good make the best of circumstances, but underlying it all, they are not compatible.

Rat + Monkey

Being members of their trinity group, they both make a cute couple and a fantastic pair! Both being fun, energetic signs that that thrive on parties and social gatherings, they will have a fun time together. They feed off each other’s energies and are likely to be a favourite couple with their friends. The Rat had best rein in any jealous tendencies as the Monkey has potential to stray. In business they will make a dynamic duo, with the Rat’s shrewd head for business means it is really the one in control, while indulging the Monkey to feel like it’s the one in control. Overall there will be lots of laughs and happy time in their household. Overall they will enjoy a pleasant and satisfying partnership in marriage and business.

Rat + Rooster

Not an easy alliance. The Rat is shrewd and a schemer, which can fly in the face of the honest and straightforward Rooster’s exacting standards. The practical Rooster likes to stick to the conservative, the tried and tested approach whereas the Rat has a looser and more creative approach. The Rooster will find the Rat’s social, and fun loving nature quite irritable; however the Rat does have a serious side and knows how to treat loved ones well. The Rooster can be rather vain and needs to be flattered and complimented, and the Rat will be happy to oblige as it likes to treat loved ones well. They both share a thrifty spirit, the Rat loved to hang onto the money it’s earned, which the Rooster will no doubt approve of. Any business partnership can be considered provided both signs contribute their own special skills and ability. There will however be competition for domination and over who’s the boss. The Rooster may also give cause for the Rat to be jealous on occasion.

Rat + Dog

Not a bad pairing. They will make a great pair provided there is enough compromise to overcome their differences and find happiness. Rats appreciate loyalty and loves to be surrounded by loyal friends, and loyalty is what the Dog has a matter of course. The Rat appreciates a true friend and will treat the Dog well for this. The Dog’s worrywart and pessimism may bore the Rat somewhat, but the Dog will appreciate the Rat’s generous care but may have trouble coming to trust the shrewd Rat, and wonder what the Rat’s true motivations are. In business, the Dog’s special gift of being able to see into a person’s heart, with help the Rat in avoiding dishonest associates. For partnership in business and romance, they will survive most problems.

Rat + Pig

The Pig and the Rat will make a great pair, in friendship, in business or in love. The Rat loves being the centre of attention and treats its loved ones with a special, warm generosity. The Pig puts friends and family first and so will make a loyal member of the Rat’s social group. The Pig is an optimist and idealist and thus will overlook some of the Rat’s vices such as its greedy nature and scheming mind. The Pig enjoys the luxurious, which meshes well with the Rat’s good taste and it will enjoy treating the Pig to the good life. However the Pig may be a bit too lazy for the Rat’s taste which will bring out the Rat’s wrath. However, overall this is a joyful union of happy contentment, where emotional needs are met.

Ox + Ox

A union of two Oxen will be a formidable force. With both having leadership tendencies, these two work well together as long as they can agree on who is in charge of what. In a home of two Oxen you will find neatness, peace, meal always eaten on time, laundry done on the same day every week, arguments will be few and far in between. This sounds wonderful, and it is — the problem is, this relationship lacks that bit of fire that spices things up and keeps life interesting. This will then lead to one of them going off to look for excitement elsewhere. However socially and in business, such partnerships do work.

Again please keep in mind the previous advice against partnering with your own sign.

Ox + Tiger

The Ox and the Tiger is not a natural match. The main problem is their vastly different approaches to life. The Tiger is untamable while the Ox is quite reliable; the Tiger is adventurous while the Ox is reserved; the Tiger is unfocused while the Ox is built for hard work and wants to do things right the first time. Any squabbles? Not exactly, but wagonloads of tension. However they aren’t completely opposite, as they both have a warm heart. Overall not the easiest partnership in romance or business unless the charisma is very powerful.

Ox + Rabbit

This match can be wonderful and a happy love life for the two is typical. Here you have two of the kindest souls of the Chinese zodiac, but both have problems expressing their inner selves. They are both somewhat homebodies and enjoy staying home and cozy up rather than going out to loud, grating, and tiring social affairs. Again like the Ox and Ox pairing, the same problem might arise in that they start to bore each other as their relationship may lack spark and excitement. The Ox is a steady, hard worker, qualities the Rabbit appreciates. While other signs might take advantage of the Rabbit’s compassionate, passive nature, the Ox is far too honourable to do that. The Rabbit will feel respected and protected by the Ox.

 Ox + Dragon

Not an ideal relationship. This pairing can work provided they have similar goals in mind. The Dragon has a fiery flamboyant nature in contrast to the Ox’s solid, steady and serious approach to life. The main problem between the two is they have different values. The Dragon is idealistic and ambitious, whereas the Ox is more conservative, stubborn, and methodical. Both being strong, they will compete with each other for domination. Business partnerships are likely to be better provided the differences are acknowledged. The Dragon is quite luck with money, and the Ox is diligent and dependant who wants to do things right the first time.

Ox + Snake

A most dazzling and excellent pair! This is truly a meeting of the body and mind! Though outwardly different, they are on the same wavelength and share similar sensibilities. They both prefer quality and depth over quantity and flashiness, and neither are afraid of hard work. Both have strongly value family and a stable and satisfying home life. The Ox’s dependable and steady nature will not give cause to bring out the Snake’s more jealous and possessive nature when given the slightest reason. In business, these two make a powerful team. The Ox is practical and methodical, which complements the Snake’s dashing and intuitive approach. A most recommended partnership in romance and in business.

Ox + Horse

The Ox and the Horse are a mismatch. They both want to drive, but the one with the money usually wins. Both signs cab be irritated or impatient with the other. The Ox is dependable, steady and conservative, in direct contrast to the Horse’s wild, free spirit, and independent streak. In love there will be problems as the Horse may be too restless for the Ox’s steady and harmonious nature. They are capable of disagreement and arguments when both are in a business partnership. The Horse may ditch projects at a moment’s notice, much to the dismay of the steady and conservative Ox. Not a good match overall. Remember, you can lead a Horse to water… but not for long.

Ox + Goat

As these are opposite signs in the Chinese zodiac, this pairing is best avoided. The dreamy, arty Goat will find the steady, conservative Ox restrictive, while the practical Ox will find the sensitive Goat to be overemotional. They will both find themselves straining against the confines of each other’s personality. The Goats hates authority and so will not respond well to the Ox’s authoritative nature. Powerful physical attraction fizzles on first date. Ox detests caprice. Goat hates authority. On a positive note, the sensitive, sometimes insecure Sheep will greatly appreciate the Ox’s honest and trustworthy nature. Overall both may share common interests, but their point of view on life can be fundamentally diverse which leads to disagreement.

Ox + Monkey

This pairing will need a lot of work to make happen. The Ox and the Monkey will inevitably clash, as they are too different not to, but they can make good friends if they understand one another’s natures. The Ox is stoic, conservative and likes to stay home, while the Monkey is boisterous and needs an active social life. They have incompatible interests. The Monkey’s primary interest is the pursuit of pleasure in contrast to the Ox’s more serious nature and priorities in life. They could never work together in business as they simply have different goals. The Ox will want to get down to work hard and do things right the first time, whereas the Monkey will only want to do something if it lead to an exciting or fun result!

Ox + Rooster

A lucky find, and most solid match. The Ox and the Rooster make nearly a perfect pair in whatever relationship it happens to be. They are both on the same wavelength. They are both conservative in their approach to life; preferring the tried and tested methods to anything deemed risky or too innovative. The Rooster’s perfectionism with mesh well with the Ox’s way of getting things right the first time. This leads them to making a strong and practical team. They both value honesty and trustworthiness so would not invoke jealousy in the other. The Rooster is more social and will draw the Ox out more. The only problem will be their mutual tendency to be blunt, critical and judgemental, but this is just a reflection of their honest, direct nature.
Rooster will provide very important motivation to both romantic and working relationships for the Ox.

Ox + Dog

A somewhat average pairing. Both will appreciate each other’s trustworthy, honest nature. The Ox will also appreciate the Dog’s loyalty and will return the favour. The Dog can be rather dogmatic at times, in fact, which may lead to arguments, especially since the Ox has a stubborn streak. The Dog, who tends to be a worrier and has trouble allowing itself to trust others. Such partnership either in romance or business, will always be under the darkness of doubt.

Ox + Pig

A very good match. The Pig is happy to stay at home with the rather shy Ox, while at the same time the Pig can draw the Ox out of its shell. In business, the Pig attracts wealth and the Ox works hard to keep it. The Ox would never take advantage of the gregarious, sometimes-gullible Pig, as other signs might. The Pig will lean gratefully on the sturdy Ox in times of need. The problem will lie in that both signs are inherently stubborn. The Pig loves to get its own way, and the Ox finds it hard to change and take on someone else’s view when in conflict with its own. Overall a pleasant and conservative partnership, suitable for domestic happiness, or a business environment.

Tiger + Tiger

Not a good idea as these two being the same sign are likely to keep fighting over who’s in charge. The Chinese view the Tiger as king of the beasts, and the two of them together means rivalry as to who is the King! They will immediately be drawn to one another, since Tigers possess a certain magnetism of personality that draws others in; this is a sexy, unique and warm-hearted sign. However, go deeper and problems arise. Tigers do not react well when someone tries to control them, they need complete freedom and autonomy in any relationship. Two Tigers together may find the relationship intense and exciting, however their constant clash over who has authority will likely create an unstable dynamic.

Tiger + Rabbit

Due to the dissimilar nature of the Tiger and the Rabbit, a relationship here will be most unbalanced. The Tiger’s bold and free spirit might overwhelm the Rabbit’s more timid nature. Because of this, any power plays will have the Tiger almost always win out. The Rabbit has a tendency to give more of itself than healthy, and need to know where it stands in a relationship, which may be difficult given the Tiger’s independent, changeable nature. In everything, the Tiger will always be in charge, with the Rabbit actually appreciating this.

Tiger + Dragon

A pairing of the dazzling! Both the Tiger and the Dragon have magnetic personalities and may initially be attracted to each other because of this. However, this attraction will sooner or later give way to irritation. The problem is the Dragon likes to be in charge of everything, whereas the Tiger insists on autonomy. Both of these signs are fearsome in a dispute and their rows heated. The Tiger will love the Dragon’s spontaneity and they can both keep up with each other’s bursts of energy. This is an influential combination, both for business and romance. These two strong minds mean much melodrama in their relationship

Tiger + Snake

The Tiger and the Snake will find it tricky to balance things and may have problems finding enough in common. There is lots of potential for trouble in a relationship between these two. The Snake tends to be jealous resulting from its inner insecurity, while the Tiger will not want to be held back by their partner and it will send them running. Things are better in a business partnership, with the Snake using it intuitive in business will complement the Tiger’s bold and fearless approach. The key to whatever relationship they have is understanding.

Tiger + Horse

As the Tiger and Horse are signs in their compatibility group, this pair should endure. They make a very good match due to their optimistic and fun outlooks on life. They are both independent in nature, however the Tiger might seem the leader as it likes to be in charge. However as they share similar goals and interest, no leaser is really necessary. Both of them understand each other’s need to do things their own way, and to roam wherever and whenever they want. Because of this, this will be a model relationship for marriage, but not really in business. For in business the Tiger may adopt the leadership position, and the Horse may find it hard to stay focused on the task under guidance.

Tiger + Goat

This union will require a lot of work. The Goat is sensitive, creative and high-strung, needing encouragement, support and to depend. The Tiger considers its freedom and independence to be utmost important and might flee if the Goat starts putting demand on. The Tiger likes to be in charge of things and the leader, and the Goat being creative would not welcome any restrictions on the part. Tiger’s strength, optimism and sense of fun would be a great counter to the Goat’s normally pessimistic outlook. Overall not an advisable match.

Tiger + Monkey

Both the Tiger and Monkey are opposite signs and are traditionally a pair in conflict with each other. It would be most difficult to find common ground and their relationship may be marked by friction. Both are fun loving and light- hearted, however after a while the Monkey may start to show off by competing with the Tiger’s natural leadership position .The Tiger will not accept a leader as they are the most independent of the Chinese zodiac signs and always expects to be in charge. They will be prone to having arguments resulting from the Tiger’s commanding nature versus the Monkey’s tendency for mischievous fun. They will tire of each other and end up pursuing their own interests and not each other, the Tiger its freedom and the Monkey its pleasure.

Tiger + Rooster

This is not a natural pairing and they tend to argue with one another. The Tiger and the Rooster have certain characteristics that don’t fit together as well. For their relationship to run smoothly, each sign will have to work to meet the other’s needs. The problem is both know what they want and are steadfast in having it. The Rooster wants mere perfection, which is quite a tall order, especially for the individualistic Tiger, who refuses to follow anyone’s lead but its own. The Rooster tends to nag which may cause the Tiger to turn tail and run! The Tiger is used to being in charge and the Rooster is used to having its point of view respected and followed, but these qualities don’t mesh together very well. They would fair better in business together as the Tiger would appreciate the Rooster being meticulous in its work, and the Rooster appreciating the Tiger being the front person.

These two signs may fare better in a business relationship; the Tiger actually might appreciate the Rooster’s efforts to make things in the office and in the company perfectly spotless and trouble-free, and the Rooster might be glad to let the Tiger assume the position of front person, leaving the Rooster to get things going behind the scenes. Whatever their relationship, however, these two must try hard not to argue too much.

Tiger + Dog

The Tiger and Dog are a natural pairing and this is ideal. They are both noble and protective of their loved ones, therefore making each other feel secure. The Tiger has found the right balance with the Dog. The Tiger tends to run from restrictive relationships, but with the Dog it will feel its needs and interests are protected. The Dog tends to be pessimistic but will find it easy to trust the noble, and warm hearted Tiger. , this is an important balance — this sign tends to run from restrictive relationships but with the Dog, the Tiger won’t just feel protected, it will feel that its needs and interests (such as individuality and independence) are being protected as well. The Tiger will be happy to return the favor, and the Dog will be happy to receive it — this sign is sometimes a bit pessimistic and has trouble trusting others but will find it easy to trust the noble, warm-hearted and courageous Tiger. Whether they’re business associates, lovers, friends or family members, these two are likely to get along famously. A great match!

Tiger + Pig

The Tiger and Pig is not an obvious match and will work with extra flexibility and mutual trust on both sides. The Pig is generally very kind, generous, and well mannered which in itself makes relationships easier to work. For the freedom loving Tiger, restrictive and possessive partners will have them fleeing as freedom and autonomy are incredibly important to it. The Pig on the other hand values connection, support and a steady home. If they are to make it work, the Pig will have to accept the Tiger’s roaming and the Tiger will have to offer the Pig much support and reassurance.

Rabbit + Rabbit

Oh such sweetness! Timid, sweet and compassionate sign, make that a double! Two Rabbits could be a match made in heaven as they understand each other so well. Life for them will be a subjective affair, with both being emotional, idealistic, and artistic. They will both feed off each other’s negative emotions, which includes pessimism, and anxiety, pulling each other down. However as they both idealise relationships, their own will be full of sweetness and emotional intensity and both will go to great pains not to upset the other. Their home will be lovely and they both love to entertain their family and friends with dinner parties. As Rabbits need lots of support and encouragement, they will both benefit from having a third party as an advisor to keep them grounded on Earth on occasion.

As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against.

Rabbit + Dragon

Not a very good match and the Rabbit and the Dragon are opposites in nature. The Dragon is fiery, overbearing and showy while the Rabbit is sweet and timid. This relationship will be rather lopsided with the Rabbit seeking a quiet and sedate life, while the Dragon’s life tends to be full of noise and drama. The Rabbit is conservative with money and saving and investing is in its nature, while the Dragon would usually squander to show off. However, the Rabbit needing support from family and friends, the Dragon is able to provide protection and a source of strength. Over the long term their interests and life with go in different directions, therefore not an advisable match.

Rabbit + Snake

The Rabbit and the Snake are alike and also opposites. They have different ways of approaching the world but can still have a fulfilling, close relationship. They both have a love of luxury, baubles, trinkets, and expensive furnishings. Socially these two are direct opposites. The Snake being social able, and very popular due to its charms, and sexy demeanour, while the Rabbit is shy and would rather have an intimate dinner party at home. They are also very mental signs, the Snake having an intuitive mind, and the Rabbit having a subjective view of the world. The Rabbit is rather conservative in nature; however the Snake is the best sign to bring out fully the Rabbit’s sensuality. The Snake is also good at telling the Rabbit all the exquisite lies that the Rabbit likes to hear! In business, the Snake will generally be in charge of the finances as Rabbits are generally weak in this area. In all, a partnership that can work very well.

Rabbit + Horse

Not a good pairing generally, with their styles clashing. Rabbits are calm, and likes to spend time doing the finer things like reading, and tour museums. The Horse is always constantly working and has no time for culture. They would need to put time and effort into this relationship to make it work, and that work is likely done by the Rabbit as it is the more flexible and places importance on relationships. The Rabbit is a very understanding and compassionate sign that would work well with the Horse’s tendency for changing its mind. The Rabbit needs the support of loved ones and this could be quite a demand on the Horse as it is often unpredictable. If the Horse can find a balance between maintaining independence and providing support for the Rabbit then it could work. For a workable romantic relationship, the Horse partner should be the male.

Rabbit + Goat

What could be better than this? This pairing bodes long-term cohabitation and endless love. The Rabbit and the Goat share similarities and their differences are complimentary. Both are dreamy and artistic signs who rely on emotion and intuition rather than logic through life. There is plenty of room for give and take so the Rabbit’s kind nature will not be taken advantage of. However as they both can be high-strung and pessimistic at times they will have problems helping one another and may feed off each other’s anxiety. As they both require emotional security, the Rabbit will more likely be providing the emotional security. Neither of them handles finances well and would best have a third party handle this aspect for them. However, overall a very good match and a great pairing.

Rabbit + Monkey

A poor match with these two. The Rabbit and Monkey are rather opposite in nature. The Rabbit’s compassionate and passive nature means it may end up giving far more into the relationship than the Monkey, while the Monkey is just far more interested in itself and its own pleasure. They have different interests with the Rabbit preferring to entertain intimately at home, while the Monkey loves the big party with groups, crowds, lights and noise. While the Rabbit is not good with mundane responsibilities, it is careful with money. The Monkey though is rather self-indulgent and thinks nothing of spending too much on momentary pleasures. This could likely lead to rows over money. Not a match made in heaven.

Rabbit + Rooster

Head for the hills! The Rabbit and Rooster are opposite signs in the Chinese zodiac so are traditionally regarded as enemies. They will fight over everything and their relationship marked by constant friction. The problem lies in their very different natures. The Rabbit views the world subjectively and therefore has trouble with practicalities, details and other things mundane. The Rooster, on the other hand being a very practical sign, sees the world almost exclusively as details that require precise work to be perfected. The Rooster would view the Rabbit as being too careless, and the Rabbit sees the Rooster as being demanding and critical. Rabbits also enjoy and tend to stay at home, whereas Roosters like to wander. Nothing could be done by these two together without a struggle. Avoid at all costs.

Rabbit + Dog

Even though these two signs are not together in a compatibility group, many have been known to enjoy golden anniversaries. The Rabbit and Dog match well together based upon mutual trust, appreciation, and loyalty. The timid Rabbit tends to get overrun and overwhelmed by more powerful or boisterous signs that would also take advantage of its good nature. The Dog is too honourable to take advantage of the Rabbit. The Dog tends to have problems trusting people, but would have no cause to do so with the loyal and trustworthy Rabbit. The Rabbit needs emotional support and security from loved ones which the Dog can provide, and the Rabbit’s own compassion and affectionate nature will calm the Dog’s own anxieties. The only problem that may arise is that they are both pessimistic by nature when chaos sets in so they must take care not to feed off each other’s anxieties. This is a slow-growing heartfelt couple whose love is enhanced by time and mutual respect, and make an admirable couple.

Rabbit + Pig

Match made in heaven. These two have complementary qualities that are likely to make each other feel loved and cared for. The Pig loves to offer help, affection, and protection to its loved ones, the very things that the Rabbit needs to maintain balance. The Pig has a generous and agreeable nature that only likes to see best in others, while the Rabbit is full of compassion and perception. They are both also the forgiving type, but they can find few faults with each other to begin with. The Pig will provide the Rabbit with stability and protection, while the Rabbit will offer loyalty and affection in return. As the Pig tends to attract money, it will make heaps of money for Rabbit to spend on fine art and gourmet foods for it to devour as both enjoy life’s luxuries. A joyful relationship especially in marriage, the Pig is a helpful partner in business. The Pig will likely be the front person, while appreciating the Rabbit’s innovative ideas.

Dragon + Dragon

Get ready for fireworks! Two Dragons make an explosive combination. Double the intelligence, double the luck, double the fire! They will share an incredible electric connection. They are very sexy, showy, lucky in love and on the same wavelength. However there may be somewhat of a power struggle as to who is the boss, as they are both natural leaders and used to being in charge. Their dynamic relationship will be one of excitement, flare and a great social life!

As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against.

Dragon + Snake

The Dragon and Snake are quite a good match. Both are sexy, attractive, and magnetic signs and they will be physically attracted to each other. The Dragon is magnetic, brash, and energetic. The Snake is physically attractive which Dragons appreciate as they love to be seen with beautiful people. The differences are that the Snake is more intuitive rather than logical, and the Dragon relied on luck in taking advantage of opportunities. The Snake tends to be jealous and possessive which may grate on the Dragon. The Dragon’s abundance of energy and get up and go is in contrast to the Snake’s tendency to be self-indulgence and laziness. Ideal partners both in business and romance though.

Dragon + Horse

The Dragon and Horse will make a stimulating match. Both fun loving and full of high energy they will have lots of fun together. Both signs are active and do not like to settle down for long before moving to different pastures. A high-profile and fast paced relationship, they will keep each other stimulated, happy, and fulfilled. Despite them both seeming confident, the Horse actually suffers for a bit of insecurity which the Dragon can help reassure and alleviate. The Horse will bask in the Dragon’s flamboyance and the Dragon will admire the Horse’s work ethic. The Horse tends to lose interest in things quickly and want to move on, but with the exciting Dragon in charge, the Horse will find things interesting and dynamic enough to stick around. A good pairing overall.

Dragon + Goat

This pairing can work. The Goat is of a sensitive nature, tends to be a worrier so would appreciate someone that will takes care of matters and be strong to lean on like the Dragon. The Dragon will in turn appreciate the way the Goat looking after their home, keeping it comfortable and artistically decorated. The Goat also needs to be admired and appreciated, that the Dragon can do and will express everything in an immediate way. The Dragon will be front person for any endeavour that they undertake, with the Goat running the behind the scenes.

Dragon + Monkey

Love found across the party room! The Dragon and Monkey make an excellent pair and a fun match. The two have so much in common, both being energetic, brash, get-up-and-go attitude, loves to party and pursuing its own pleasures. Yes it will be a fast-paced life with parties galore. They both don’t like mundane activities much means they are certainly not homebodies, in fact to them it is only a place to sleep after last night’s party! They are both risk-takers so likely to plunge into things together, though the Dragon tends to be the harder worker and lucky with money, while the Monkey just want to have fun. No problems in this partnership and an overall good match.

Dragon + Rooster

Another fine match though thorny at times. The Dragon and the Rooster are highly compatible but they also do seem opposites. The Dragon is fiery, exciting, attention seeking and showy, while the Rooster is practical and more conservative. The Dragon operates on instinct and often makes decisions on the run, while the rooster is a planner. The Rooster is more set in its ways so this union can be fulfilling once the Rooster learns to appreciate Dragon’s soft heart, and sweet, giving sentimentality. The Dragon does love a loyal partner and comfortable home, and the Rooster does enjoy a fun night on the town. With any endeavour, the Dragon will be the front person keeping things exciting and moving forwards while the Rooster works behind the scenes.

Dragon + Dog

An ill advised match since they are opposite signs on the Chinese Zodiac and their relationship often marked by friction. Though the Dog is one of the most flexible signs, problems will come up with the Dragon sooner or later due to their different natures and their ideals being poles apart. The Dog pursues causes as it is the crusader of the Chinese zodiac and the Dragon pursues pleasure, fame, and festivity. The Dragon expresses things immediately and forcefully which may be off putting for the Dog, while the Dragon may tire of the Dog’s moodiness. A match probably best avoided.

Dragon + Pig

This pairing works even though the Dragon and the Pig seem so different on surface. The Dragon may seem fiery, showy, and independent however it has a soft heart. The Pig by its very nature is very soft and warm, valuing close family and friends. The Pig will admire and adore the Dragon’s brash and dynamic nature, and the Dragon is more than willing to have admirers and a willing audience. The Pig is very much into indulgent foods, and luxurious home and a good home life, while the Dragon does not care as much for being at home, however will appreciate all the Pig ahs done to create the plush comfort at home. The Dragon is a risk-taker who follows its impulses and the Pig is happy to follow the Dragon’s lead and keep things moving forwards.

Snake + Snake

Quite a good match, and one that occurs quite frequently. Two Snakes will connect well as they both have the same values. They both like money, luxury, baubles, and sex. They will have plenty of fun together whatever their relationship is. They are both good seducers so tend to fall for each other as they are both attractive signs. Snakes tend to be rather jealous and possessive lovers but faithlessness lurks on both sides. The problem generally is that they may both end up competing with each other due to their urge to be THE Snake of the pairing. Generally a good combination in business and romance.

As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against.

Snake + Horse

Not a very good match. The Snake and the Horse have opposite qualities that don’t gel well together. The Horse is energetic and is constantly on the move. The Snake on the other hand is somewhat a homebody and can be lazy. The Horse will tire of the Snake’s sated nature and the Snake will tire of the Horse’s unwillingness to settle down. They may be initially attracted to each other but they are likely to argue a lot. The Horse will keep changing its mind on things, and keep seeking out greener pastures after a while, whereas the Snake relies on its keen intuition to know where to go next.

Snake + Goat

A workable pairing with enough effort. Both of these are the softer signs of the Chinese zodiac and generally need the interaction with a more dynamic sign to come alive. These two will work best in a romantic relationship since they both have a very sensual side. The Snake is charming, sensual, attractive, and could seduce any sign. The Goat needs to feel admired and appreciated by a lover. If in business, the Snake will be the front person, charming clients, and attending meetings, while the Goat is great at dreaming up new ideas.

Snake + Monkey

A rather tricky pairing. The Snake and the Monkey may have too many opposite qualities. They both like to have fun and are both charming popular. However the Snake is much more reserved and a homebody, where the Monkey is always into having a good time and its own pleasures. The Snake tends to be the jealous type and the Monkey has potential to be unfaithful. A bit tricky in a romantic relationship. In business, these two are likely to compete with each other to be the front person as they both love the limelight, and the Snake will end up putting more work in than the fun loving Monkey.

Snake + Rooster

A great match as the Snake and the Rooster share many of the same interests and values, and are on the same wave length. While they are both social signs (the Rooster loves going out with friends, and the Snake is popular and attractive), both are more interested in security and comforts of home. This pairing will work well in any relationship form as things will run smoothly between them be it at home or work. The Snake is the possessive type in relationships due to own insecurity but this won’t be a problem as the Rooster will be faithful. In business they will do well together as they both prefer the conservative and tried and tested approach rather than opt for the risky. This being, they will always agree on what the next step to take is.

Snake + Dog

Not a natural union but a satisfying one nevertheless. Both the Snake and the Dog suffer from their own insecurities and anxieties but will find comfort and strength from each other. Their characteristics are not too similar, nor are they too far apart. The Dog is pleasant but can be moody, while the Snake is charming but rather reserve in nature, preferring the quiet. For this union to last they must cultivate mutual areas of interest. They need to do things together like take up causes to help the needy which the Dog will no doubt enjoy The Snake has a tendency to be jealous and since the Dog is very loyal and trustworthy there will not be cause for problems in this area. The Snake will in turn ease the Dog’s worries with its sensual self. With the Dog being so loyal, normally it is SNAKE’S fault for the relationship to end.

Snake + Pig

As the Snake and the Pig are opposite signs in the zodiac, this pairing is not advised as it is usually marked by friction. The problem may lie in inadequate communication. The Snake is more intuitive and subjective and may not express things with enough forthright. The Pig is usually shy and honourable sign but can be quite malicious in response. The Pig does have a certain level of mystery which the Snake may be suspicious of, and the Pig must be vigilant as there is more chance of the Snake straying.

Horse + Horse

Two Horses together would share an immediate attraction and passion. Their will instantly recognise a kindred spirit, loves movement, stimulation, and loathes being tied down. Horses love a good time, however they will run into problems as they need to be the centre of attention and will compete with each other for that attention lest they feel overshadowed. Horses are the most unpredictable of the signs and can change their minds at a whim or lose interest quickly in something. Horses are strong minded individuals who need their independence. While they may understand this aspect of each other, it doesn’t make much of anything long term with each other. With anything undertaken together they may not stick around to see it come to fruition.

As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against.

Horse + Goat

This union can be very harmonious if they both are willing to make some compromises. Their differences are fortunately complementary. While the Horse is well known for being unpredictable, they always like to be stimulated and it will be attracted to the Goat’s artistic nature. They are attracted to each other at first sight, and their union grows stronger when they realize they share the same passions and desires. The Goat brings loveliness and poetry into the otherwise workaday life of the Horse and they enjoy each other’s company. Problems may arise when the Horse becomes restless and wants to move on but the Goat’s sensitive side would rather hold onto hurt feelings than cause a conflict. Horse and Goat relationships stand the test of time.

Horse + Monkey

These two wilful people might just be too similar to get along smoothly for long. Like two Horse, the Horse and the Monkey are both fun-loving, pleasure seeking, and desire to be centre of attention might mean that they will both compete with each other for just that. The Horse will throw itself into any new relationship but leave once it has lost interest, while the Monkey has the potential to stray in any relationship. Therefore they are better off as friends rather than lovers. In business they would be a dynamic duo full of possibilities but the Horse may end up putting in more work than the pleasure loving Monkey, causing resentment.

Horse + Rooster

The Horse and the Rooster can actually make a good pair even though they are quite different. The Horse’s unpredictable nature versus the Rooster’s exacting perfectionism. For this match to work the Horse needs to be flexible and the Rooster not to nag. Horses and Roosters make a great team. They just have to make sure their quarrels and power struggles don’t undermine their love for each other. The Rooster likes things in order competed to its exacting standards, while the Horse will often start something then abandon it when it loses interest.

Horse + Dog

As both the Horse and the Dog are in the trinity compatibility group this match should do just fine! They will be good friends through thick and thin. They are both fun loving with happy social lives. The Horse is more energetic than the Dog and the Dog is less a social butterfly than the Horse. They will not complain about each other’s occasional mood swings. These two are likely to share a strong physical connection and won’t be able to wear one another out, though they may try. Expect to have a happy relationship both in romance and in business.

Horse + Pig

Not a natural pairing, the Horse and the Pig will only work with a lot of effort from both sides. The Horse is very social able, witty, fun and seeking attention. The Pig is generous, honourable, and always sees the best in others. Their life together will see the Horse labouring to bring home the bacon, and the Pig cooking it in their fancy country kitchen. The Pig is happy to have the quieter life, while the energetic Horse is dynamic and active, always wanting to roam free. After a while the Horse may lose interest and may want to leave, causing the family life loving Pig to become vindictive.

Goat + Goat

Two Goats together can make an amazing connection through their artistic nature, but their relationship can be difficult to manage. This is a high-strung sign, and two of them together may magnify the effects, especially in times of stress. They can make each other feel admired, and as they are both sensitive, any emotional balance will be felt by them both. Both being dreamy, artistic souls they have problems keeping grounded. They may also be prone to power struggles as they both like to be in control. Not being good with finances, they are best to get third party help to handle the finances.

As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against.

Goat + Monkey

Not a natural pairing, and two very different people, but if the Goat and the Monkey are willing to put effort into combining their best attributes, they will create an interesting relationship. The Goat is rather high-strung and needs to be admired and loved by its dearest to achieve emotional balance. This may be a big ask of the Monkey as it is always swinging from group to group have as much fun as possible. There may also be power struggles over who is in charge and both signs like to feel that they are. A difficult one.

Goat + Rooster

A most difficult pairing as they are in completely different energy vectors. The Goat and the Rooster will have to put a lot of effort in and work out who is in control of what. The main problem is that the Rooster insists on being in control against the Goat’s insistence on doing things its own way. There will likely be moodiness, sulking, and hurt feelings rather than joy and laughter. This relationship seems to run into problems every other day, and is the compatibility equivalent to open heart surgery – every mistake just makes things worse. No eternal happiness here.

Goat + Dog

Not a good combination as the Goat and the Dog are a mismatch. The main issue is their different interests and energy levels. The Goat is more a thinker, happy enough to dwell in its own imagination while the Dog is more of a doer. The Dog likes to get things going and moving and so likes like mined individuals. The Dog likes to be physically active while the Goat is dreamy and rather reserved. The Dog can be snappish, direct, cynical, and sarcastic which will not do down well with the ultra-sensitive Goat. This relationship will usually have the Dog being more dominate and controlling the Goat.

Goat + Pig

As both the Goat and the Pig are a part of the same trinity of compatible signs, they are sure to get on. The Goat and the Pig share important similarities that ensures a smooth, loving, and sensuous relationship for both. The Pig will admire the Goat’s creative mind and intelligence, and the Goat will admire the Pig for its generosity, stability, and strength. The Goat is an emotional sign that needs lots of love and admiration to maintain its emotional balance, and the Pig is just the one to give it. The Goat does adore luxury provided by Pig’s ability to attract money. The Pig is tolerant, loving and sexy which would make the Goats melt into a sweet routine. Together they will have a fine opulent home decorated artistically. A most commendable pairing.

Monkey + Monkey

What a barrel of Monkeys! With them being on the same wavelength, there is no question that they will get along. Both Monkeys have tons of energy and is all about pursing pleasure and they will have lots of laughs and loads of fun together. As both like attention and be in the spotlight, occasional power disputes may erupt but fights will be over quickly as they both don’t like holding grudges. As the Monkey sign does have potential for infidelity, this is always a risk, however as they understand one another, there will be no recriminations.

As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against.

Monkey + Rooster

A difficult match. The Monkey and the Rooster are so different in nature that it is hard to reconcile and needs a lot of work. Both signs like to be in control but in their own way. The Rooster gets this by its nagging and the Monkey likes to get control by being the loudest, most boisterous, and generally making itself noticeable. The Rooster will find the Monkey to be excessive and the Monkey will find the Rooster boring. Initial attraction will be intense and fleeting as there will be major differences of opinion. Both will recognise each other’s ability, but love is shallow. Their love will be characterised by rows. This is an unlikely combination in the long term.

Monkey + Dog

The Monkey and the Dog have great potential together! This relationship will succeed if differences are sorted out. The Monkey is a fun-loving, energetic sign and always ready for a new adventure. The Dog is more serious at hear than the Monkey but also enjoys fun. The Dog can sometimes be moody but the Monkey is usually so busy with its own pursuits that it doesn’t notice. The Monkey is a curious sign and has potential to stray. The Dog is loyal and has high moral standard so this can be a source of conflict if the Monkey gives cause for the Dog to be suspicious. However generally they will have a fun, and light hearted relationship enjoying lost of social activities together.

Monkey + Pig

Quite a good match. The Monkey and the Pig are good company for each other and can have a lot of fun together. Both are generally the happy and positive types who enjoy life’s luxuries, the Monkey having the more decadent taste. Family and close friends are the most important things to a Pig while seeking pleasure is what drives the Monkey. The Pig is more of the homebody and the Monkey will be constantly out and about, and will try to motivate the Pig to get out more. The generous nature of the Pig might leave it open to being taken advantage of by the Monkey. In any endeavour together, the Monkey will generally be the front person with the Pig working hard behind the scenes.

Rooster + Rooster

Nothing to crow about with this match. These two are just too similar to be compatible and get along. The problem is that this sign like to rule the roost totally. Neither Rooster will be willing to give an inch to each other and they will agree on nothing. They will spend their time criticising each other. Most households can only handle ONE self-righteous person, let alone two. A disastrous relationship to be avoided at all costs!

Rooster + Dog

Not an easy pairing. The Rooster and the Dog will have trouble communicating with one another. The Rooster always insists in being in controlling and controlling everyone and everything around it. The Dog also has strong views and high principles which is where problems can happen between the two. Both the Rooster and the Dog have different interests, with the Rooster more concerned with outward appearances, while the Dog is more interested in activity than pretence. Though they both make loyal partners, they are likely to rapidly fall in love head over tail, but then just as rapidly fall out of love when the going gets rough. The lack of common ground make the Rooster/Dog relationship an uphill struggle.

Rooster + Pig

Quite a good pairing provided they can be flexible as their difference are not complementary. The Rooster has a strong personality so needs a softer sign, and the Pig being generally easy-going sign would be just the thing. The Rooster may find the Pig’s luxurious tastes excessive, and since it likes to be in charge it has its work cut out for it to rein the Pig in on this matter. Despite the differences in personality and opinion, the Rooster and Pig can, with a lot of work and patience, form an excellent relationship.

Dog + Dog

Both Dogs totally understand each other and are likely to get on very well. They both can have lots of fun together, and know that they can trust one another. They should have lots of fun together as long as they don not bring each other down with their emotionally with their anxiety and bouts of moodiness. The Dogs are compassionate, understanding and will be dedicated to each other. They usually form long-lasting relationships.
As previously advised, while there is nothing inherently wrong with partnering your own sign, as you may feel that you have found a kindred spirit, it has traditionally been advised against. The reason being, that with both signs being the same, any effect of a good or bad year is magnified. During a good year for your sign, both you and your partner will do brilliantly well. Therefore if you both are of different signs, if one of your signs is due for a bad year, your partner’s sign may do well and it helps you both as a couple. Life is hard, so anything that will help make things easier is always recommended.

Dog + Pig

Potential soul mates. The Dog and the Pig can make a terrific match due to their compassionate nature and good intentions. These scrupulous folks seeking justice and exalt tolerance. They have much in common culturally. They will get along very well. They both place great importance on home and family. There may be problems as the Dog generally possess higher energy and is more adventurous than the Pig but being the nice souls as they are, they can both smooth over any problems. Although this relationship can get a bit on the boring side, it is honest, amicable and sincere and has the potential to be long lasting.

Pig + Pig

A very loving and compatible match. Two Pigs together mean a comfortable home and a life of sensual comforts. Two Pigs together make wonderful lover, family members, or best friends. They will both delight and indulge in life’s pleasures of gourmet foods, long baths, naps, lovemaking…The problem may be that they would spend so much time enjoying all this that they don’t have much time for anything else.
The above is only a very general guidance as it only relied on the year sign. For an accurate assessment you need a personalised reading with the dates of birth of yourself and your partner. Read more here .
